What Makes Us Different

Modality of Care for Primary Medical Needs in Children

Abol Cottage Care is a General Residential Operation (GRO), providing 24-hour trauma-informed care for girls ages 7–17 at basic to moderate service levels as well as Primary Medical Need children. Our home-like environment offers structured support for children in state conservatorship who need stability and therapeutic guidance—without intensive medical or psychiatric intervention.

Modality of Care

  • Trauma-Informed Approach – Safe, predictable routines with emotional support
  • Structured Therapeutic Living – Daily life skills training and behavior modeling
  • Individualized Care Plans – Tailored to each child’s developmental and emotional needs
  • Collaborative Support – Coordination with DFPS, CPAs, and families for continuity of care

Population Served

  • Basic-Level Needs: Mild behavioral challenges, adjustment difficulties, or stable emotional/developmental needs

  • Moderate-Level Needs: History of trauma, emotional dysregulation, or need for structured skill-building

  • Primary Medical Needs (PMN): Children with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or medical complexities require 24/7 skilled nursing support and an accessible, adaptive environment. (Service Coming Soon)

In the background, a figure wearing a red shirt and sunglasses sits in a wheelchair, slightly out of focus. The setting includes a mix of natural and artificial lighting, with brick walls and some blurred objects, possibly creating a cozy atmosphere.

A young child wearing a t-shirt and shorts stands at the bottom of a staircase in a forest setting. The stairs are flanked by handrails and surrounded by dense trees and foliage, creating a natural and serene atmosphere. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground and steps.
